Petit topic avec quelques déclarations récentes et explication données par Ian Flynn durant son podcast "Bumblekast".
Q: How is Sonic Prime canon despite contradicting the lore of the games in so many ways? I can't help but wonder why bother creating a lore team if the next major project contradicts the lore so heavily. (...)
Ian : Sonic Prime was well into production before the lore council was a thing. Corrections were made, but the lore council was not overseeing the project. (...)
Q : I ask this because they haven’t appeared in any recent Classic Sonic media as far as I know, but is there anything going on at Sega preventing use of the Classic versions of Team Chaotix? I’d love to see them reunited with Knux and Mighty given the chance.
Ian : Yes
Q : Shifting gears over to Blaze's fighting partner, Silver travels back in time many times to save his future. Because of how time actually works, does this mean that every time he goes back in time to prevent a tragedy, he goes back to his own time just to see the next one? Has Silver actually ever experienced a happy world, not ravaged by Iblis, Eggman, or any third threat? Has every game he's been a part of happened in quick succession from his point of view because of this? If so, where did he find the time to come to Sonic's birthday party in Generations?
Ian : As far as my understanding is, there is one future and it's in general in good condition (Sonic Colors DS).(...). It's not Back to the Future rules, it's not Avengers rules, it's not Hot Tub Time Machine rules, it's its own special brand.
Q : Last question about '06. It's obvious that Blaze remembers at least parts of her role in the story. Does Sonic remember anything about '06 as well? I personally always thought Blaze was the ONLY person who remembered the Solaris Incident, but I've also talked/argued with others who believe Sonic remembers it as well, because he references it in Team Sonic Racing.
Ian : I think the official line is Blaze doesn't remember anything (...), and Sonic's reference in TSR I honestly don't know if that's meant to be canon (...). Sonic time travels plays by its own rules.
Q : For a while, I thought the 8-bit Sonic games with 6 Chaos Emeralds made the most sense as taking place before Sonic 2 16-bit, but with that officially no longer being the case, it actually makes sense being after Sonic 3 & Knuckles. [...] Did Robotnik begin researching alternate methods in order to not invoke the wrath of Super Sonic? Am I thinking too much into it, or am I onto something?
Ian : Applying too much thought to this. There was no greater collective canonical direction during that period. (...) Sonic Origins firmly cemented that Sonic 1 is the first game in the series. There was a lot of discussion about that, because technically Tails' Adventure is supposed to take place before that. (...) Is it going to make super duper perfect sense? No.
Q : Spinball has 16 emeralds but only the manuals said those are Chaos Emeralds. The game never says that. Are they a different set of gems now?
Ian : Officially, canonically, nailed down? TBD. Call them fake Emeralds, call them rubies, call them shiny glim glams, I don't really care. Don't get too hung up on the rigidity of the old Classic canon. (...)
Q : Is Fang just a jerboa now instead of half wolf?
Ian : Yes.
Q : what is Blaze and silver's current dynamic given 06' isn't canon. does she see him as a brother? are they good friends? is it yet to be established?
Ian : They are good friends. There's a degree of intrinsic trust between them that neither fully understands, but they don't question it either. They just know that they're pretty in sync naturally, and they just go with it. (...) [About 06 canonicity] The fact the Sonic and Silver meet for the first time in Sonic Rivals is within the context of they forgot everything from 06.
Q : What do you think of the popular interpretation that the 8th Chaos Emerald in Sonic the Fighters is a copy created by Tails, just like in SA2?
Ian : It's not a bad idea but I feel like it undercuts the concept of the false Chaos Emerald in SA2. Within the context of the game, I believe that was meant to be more of a breakthrough creation on his part. Classic Tails is smart, and certainly is talented with gadgets but he's not to that level yet. So, right now (...) take Sonic the Fighter's story with a big old grain of salt anyway. (...)
Q : Does Triple Trouble take place after 3&K’s events?
Ian : Yes.
Kyle (le co-présentateur) : Apparently all the Game Gear games take place after the Genesis games now.
Ian : Yep.
